Description
This old underground water cistern is one of the most marvelous places I ever visited. The light, which was entering through the round ceiling opening, was creating stunning reflections on the shallow level of water on the floor of the cistern. Antiques patina and stone walls were creating a mysterious surreal place.

This is a 500 year old cistern built by the Portuguese underneath their fortress of Mazagão, and beautifully shown off by Alexandra.
