About this image:
This picture was taken in Costa Rica – we drove through some remote countryside villages and we saw children playing in a schoolyard during the lunch break. I just loved the scene; it reminded me of Simon & Garfunkel’s song “Me & Julio Down by the Schoolyard” - this song was buzzing in my head for the rest of the day. I named the photo after the song. And here it goes:
Mama pajama rolled out of bed, she ran to the police station
When the cop found out, he began to shout, he started the investigation
And it's against the law, it was against the law
What what mama saw, it was against the law...
Alexandra is a visual artist and SMFA certified graphic designer with a particular fondness for immersive textures, abstractionism and photography. Her work is eclectic and diverse, yet her will to experiment with different materials and creative process acts as a common thread-line, as the instinct and emotional eloquence of her artworks is often the forefront. Alexandra has been exhibited nationally and has won numerous prizes and awards, including First Prize for portraiture in International Women’s Photography Juried Contest, New York; Lambert/Horton Award of Excellence for Photography. Alexandra's Paintings - is the second portfolio here at Fine Art America where Alexandra features her paintings, monotypes and other artwork.
